Dr. Nikolaos Andreas Chrysanthakopoulos was graduated from Dental School, University of Athens in 1998. He has also received another Degree from Faculty of Nursing from University of Athens in 1993. He was attended a program in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery in 401 General Military Hospital of Athens during 2003-2004. He got specialist in Clinical Oncology, Cytology and Histopathology during 2013-2015. His MSc Thesis titled ‘‘Correlation Between Periodontal Disease Indices and Lung Cancer in Greek Adults: a Case -Control study’’ consists the first in the International literature that was examined the possible association between periodontal diseases and lung cancer. Prof. Chrysanthakopoulos is a 6th year Pre-Grdt Student in Medical School, University of Athens. He is also a Professor of Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Sports Medicine in Public Institute of Vocational Training of Patra.
Dr. Nikolaos Andreas Chrysanthakopoulos specializes in the multidisciplinary link between oral pathology and systemic oncology. His primary research investigates how periodontal disease and oral inflammation act as risk factors for various cancers, including lung, breast, and gastric malignancies.
By utilizing his expertise in histopathology and cytology, he explores the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis and tissue-level disease progression. Additionally, his work focuses on modern dental technology, specifically the use of robotics and smart implants in oral surgery. Ultimately, his research aims to integrate oral health into broader preventive medicine and early cancer detection strategies.
Dr. Nikolaos Andreas Chrysanthakopoulos is a prolific researcher and educator active in Oral Medicine and Clinical Oncology. His scientific activities center on investigating the correlation between periodontal disease and various cancers through extensive epidemiological and histopathological studies.
He serves as an Editor and Reviewer for over 50 international medical and dental journals, contributing to the peer-review process in fields like oncology and cytology. Academically, he holds a PhD in Oncology and lectures on human anatomy and physiology. His work frequently bridges the gap between dental surgery and internal medicine, focusing on preventive strategies and molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis.
